DelVal Students Discovered the Beauty of Fordhook Farm

By Kevin York, Photo Editor and Multimedia Producer

Delaware Valley University students in the Social Media Content and Photography class were invited to experience Fordhook Farms. The farm was purchased by Atlee Burpee in 1888 and was transformed into the beautiful property we got to experience. The property continues to be the home of Burpee Seeds.

The farm only opens to the public once a year during the Burpee Summer Open. During the our visit, students had an opportunity to explore the gardens, see the historic property and capture the beauty from their eyes. As they walked through the property, there were many different things for students to photograph. From the gardens to the historic buildings and people working around the property to ensure the best quality products there was so much to see. For a place that is only open once a year to the public, it was a very unique opportunity for students to see Fordhook Farm and see what makes the property so special. Through our photography, we were able to capture some of the beauty, history, and hard work that makes Fordhook Farm what it is today.
