COMMENTARY: A PERSONAL REFLECTION

As a senior member and Secretary of the Drama Club, it is my pleasure to share the amazing semester we just wrapped up.

In November, the cast and crew of Peter and the Starcatcher took the stage.

Directors Bryan Winstead and Charlotte Grayson helped showcase the whimsical prequel to the classic story of Peter Pan. The production brought audiences into a world of imaginative storytelling, inventive staging, and high-energy performances. The show’s fast-paced humor and heartfelt moments were able to bring smiles to the audience’s faces!

Just two weeks later, the cast and crew of Almost, Maine hit the stage on December 5th and 6th. The play is a collection of vignette-style scenes exploring love, loss, and the quiet magic of small-town life, inviting quite a shift from the musical audiences saw just two weeks prior. Directors Bobby Jones and Hannah Citron invited audiences into the cozy, winter-themed atmosphere of the production filled with gentle comedy and emotional depth.

Both productions drew active crowds and positive feedback, marking yet another successful semester’s end for the Drama Club. Members expressed excitement for future productions which feature the spring musical, Alice by Heart, and the return of their annual murder mystery dinner theater, as well as appreciation for the hard work of all the casts, crews, and directing teams who brought these amazing productions to life.
