By: Dacare Smith

The Delaware Valley field hockey goalkeepers, Brooke Golbeski and Gracyn Shutt, combined for 13 saves on 17 shots during a tough 4-0 defeat to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday night. Lebanon Valley dominated much of the first quarter, registering six shots and scoring once to grab an early lead. Golbeski came up with two crucial saves in the period, while Jillian Collins led the Aggies’ defensive efforts to prevent further scoring. DelVal showed signs of offensive life early in the second quarter, entering LVC’s circle twice in the opening minutes. However, the Flying Dutchmen defense stood firm, preventing any shots on goal. The Aggies continued to push and earned their first penalty corner in the 20th minute but couldn’t capitalize. In the second half, Golbeski and Shutt shared time in goal, each covering a quarter. Golbeski made two more saves in the third, while Shutt recorded three in the fourth, but conceded a final goal to close out the match at 4-0.
