DelVal prepares for yet another wrestling season, approaching year four into their rebuild.

Showing a roster of only 7 athletes in 2021, DelVal is finally starting to return to the rich nature wrestling has brought this school.

With returning Seniors Ryan Arndt, Jacob Blair and Adam Coleman, the Aggies are stacked across the board. The recruiting class is the most impressive part of this upcoming season.

Freshman Charlie Robson has been added to the roster. In a recent interview, Charlie expressed his excitement to kick off his college career in New Britain with the Aggies. “I’m really excited to learn from the great coaching staff here at Delval and show my hard work in both the regular and post season.” Charlie, who sported a 130-21 record in high school, sporting three state medals and many more accolades couldn’t be more excited to be part of such a decorated program historically.

“It means a lot to me to be here at DelVal, I have so many guys to look up to that will allow me to become to best I can be”. Wrestling isn’t the only thing Charlie is looking to accomplish during his tenure at Delval. “I’m looking to improve each year I am here in both rooms, the classroom and the wrestling room, no matter where I start I know I can work my way to the top.”

Freshman Aidan Murray out of Council Rock South is another promising recruit from a powerhouse high school.

“I chose DelVal because of how much I liked the team on my visit, after hearing about practices and the coaching staff I knew it was one of the best options to make me the best wrestler I can be.”

Aidan was part of a high school team that sported two of the most highly recruited high school wrestlers in the country. He’s been battle tested by the best of the best and is ready to make his mark right away. “I’m looking to have a positive record my freshman year, and simply go beat guys that I’m not supposed to beat.” He says he has a lot of work to do, but he knows he’s cut out to make it here as an Aggie.

Senior Adam Coleman offered some comments about the upcoming season as well. He kept it very honest when asked about this years recruiting class. “I think this years recruiting class has some good kids and kind of reminds me of my freshman class. You have a couple kids that should make an instant impact while you also have some kids who you just know aren’t going to last that long. My freshman class for DelVal’s wrestling team had about 30 something recruits and going into my senior year it looks like only two out of the 30 something will finish off their senior year wrestling.

This should show how difficult the path of wrestling in college is and it’s really not for everyone.” It’s not all about the future for Adam, as a senior this could be the last year he steps out on a mat competitively. Adam wants his senior year to be one to remember. “What I’m looking forward to most my senior year is becoming an All-American. I’m sure I have doubters or people who don’t think I’m capable but with all my heart I know I’m good enough and will be taking the steps to be that guy. Also looking forward to the team trips we will be taking this year and spending time with my teammates.”

The aggies look to improve on last seasons record of 14-5. With plenty of returning seniors, and a huge class of solid recruits. Its looking more and more obtainable by the day. Coach Andrew Taylor and the Aggies will open the season
