Submit to the Gleaner Journal. Let Your Hidden Beauty Shine

Are you an aspiring poet? Photographer? Artist? Author? Submit your work to the 2023-2024 issue of the Gleaner Literary Journal for a chance to be published!

What is the Gleaner?

Run by student media, The Gleaner is a theme-based literary journal edited by undergraduate students at Delaware Valley University. It spotlights works created by DelVal students and faculty, and submissions can come from work accomplished in classes, events like the Student Writing Conference, or other occasions.

What is This Year’s Theme?

Each year, The Gleaner focuses on a centralized theme to inspire its patrons. Previous issues include themes such as:

  • The Sky’s the Limit
  • Right the Wrong / Write the Wrong
  • Dream On
  • And more!

This year, The Gleaner’s 2023-2024 issue theme is “Hidden Beauty.” Students are encouraged to embrace their creativity and interpret the prompt however they wish.

How Do I Submit Content?

All submissions must be made to Leslee Blahut at leslee.blahut@delval.edu

Submission types accepted into The Gleaner include original artwork, short stories, poetry, and photography. Students are also greatly encouraged to submit more than one work for each category.

How Else Can I Get Involved?

Along with submitting their work to The Gleaner, any student interested in publication can gain real, hands-on experience. Members of The Gleaner staff may enroll in the class during both fall and spring semesters for up to 3 credits, or volunteer. On staff, students are in charge of the creative process through layout, design techniques, formatting, and content selection.
