Dear Reader, let it be known that Julia Quinn, author of the Bridgerton series, will be coming to Delaware Valley University in a matter of weeks. Hosted by the Bucks County Book Fest, Quinn will make her appearance on Friday, Sept. 29.

The Bucks County Book Festival is a local, multi-day festival that highlights authors and literature of all kinds. From the inception of this event, former Doylestown & Lahaska Bookshop owner Glenda Childs and Events Director Krisy Elisi have served on the Executive Committee.

“The Bookshops have been the author liaisons, working with the committee to bring dozens of authors to Bucks County to participate in the event,” explained Elisi.

Since its beginning in 2018, a keynote speaker has been invited to join the celebration. Last year they were joined by Elin Hilderbrand, author of The Nantucket Hotel, and this year the one and only Julia Quinn will be visiting the Philadelphia suburbs.

Quinn is the author of the bestselling romance series Bridgerton, a collection of eight books and several anthologies collecting the love stories of the Bridgerton family and more. It is best known for the Netflix adaptation, consisting of two seasons with another on the way, and a separate story based on Queen Charlotte with the contribution of Shona Rhimes – later turned into a novel.

She will be coming to Doylestown on Friday, Sept. 29, and speaking to Bucks County fans at 7 p.m. in the Delaware Valley University Life Science Building. Doors to the Life Sciences Building auditorium will open at 6 p.m., with the event beginning at 7 p.m. Quinn and festival founder Elle Green will engage in a Q&A, followed by a 15-minute period for questions from the audience. All books purchased with a ticket will be signed by the author.

Tickets for the event can be found on the Bucks Book Fest Website.

Along with this exciting keynote event, the festival introduces the Bucks County Writers Market, a new way for up-and-coming authors to share their talents. “This is a juried event where a select number of authors will be chosen by a panel of judges to meet readers and sell their books,” said Elisi. “It is designed to feature local, self or independently published authors.”

The Writers Market is a free event, taking place Saturday, September 30th, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at The James Lorah Memorial Home in Doylestown, PA.

All information can be found on both the Doylestown Bookshop and Bucks Book Fest website.
