Artificial intelligence is a revolutionary technology that has the potential to transform nearly every aspect of our lives, from how we work to how we communicate and solve problems. AI hasn’t been around long, but it is rapidly advancing and more and more people are becoming aware of its capabilities.

There is so much that we are learning about AI, but there is also so much that we don’t yet know. Today, I interviewed Chat GPT, an AI chat bot that answers any question, to further understand AI and its intentions.

Me: “Hi how are you?”

Chat GPT: “Hello! As an AI language model, I don’t have emotions like humans do, but I’m here to assist you in any way I can. How can I help you today?” 

I thought it was interesting that AI felt the need to explain that it has no feelings, I expected it to respond with something normal like “good” or “alright.” I wasn’t sure if I could trust the AI yet, so I made sure to ask it some important questions.

Me: “Will you ever be smart enough to take over humans?”

Chat GPT: “As an artificial intelligence language model, I do not have thoughts or beliefs like humans. I was designed to perform specific tasks based on the data I was trained on and the algorithms that power my programming.

While AI is advancing rapidly, it is still a tool created by humans to help us achieve specific goals. As long as AI remains under human control and is programmed with ethical considerations and limitations, it is unlikely that AI will take over humans or become “smarter” than humans in the sense of having independent consciousness or decision-making capabilities.

However, it is important for us to continue researching and developing AI with caution and responsibility to ensure that it remains beneficial to society and does not pose a threat to human safety and well-being.”

Me: “Will you take any jobs away from us humans?”

Chat Gpt: “As an AI language model, I am not designed to take jobs away from humans. Instead, I am designed to assist and augment human capabilities. My purpose is to help humans accomplish their tasks more efficiently and accurately. In fact, many industries and businesses are already using AI technology like mine to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, freeing up human workers to focus on more creative and complex tasks. However, it is important for humans to continually develop new skills and adapt to changing technologies to remain competitive in the job market.”

Now that AI has explained to me that it has no malicious intentions, I can trust it with more personal questions that have a deeper meaning. What more important question is there to ask than what movies I should watch tonight?

Me: “Do you have any movie recommendations for me to watch tonight?”

Chat GPT: “Sure, I’d be happy to suggest some movies for you to watch tonight! What type of movie are you in the mood for? Drama, comedy, action, romance, science fiction, or something else?”

Me: “Comedy, please”

Chat GPT: “Great! Here are some comedy movie recommendations for you:

“Bridesmaids” (2011) – A hilarious and heartfelt comedy about a group of bridesmaids who are trying to support their friend as she prepares for her wedding.

“The Hangover” (2009) – A classic comedy about a group of friends who wake up after a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas without memory of the previous night’s events.

“Superbad” (2007) – A coming-of-age comedy about two best friends who go on a wild night out in an effort to impress their crushes.

“Step Brothers” (2008) – A raunchy and absurd comedy about two middle-aged stepbrothers who are forced to live together and hilariously clash with each other.

“Mean Girls” (2004) – A beloved teen comedy about a girl who moves to a new school and gets caught up in the popular clique’s drama.

I was happy to give Chat GPT an interview and to ask it some pretty important questions. It was able to tell me what movies to watch in a matter of seconds, and after finding out that it had no ill intent, I believe that AI and Chat GPT will be a great resource for the average person that has questions to ask.
