The Delaware Valley University men’s basketball team pulled off a stunning victory against Stevens Institute of Technology in a closely contested match on January 25, 2023.

The game started with Stevens taking an early lead, but Delaware Valley soon caught up and the two teams traded leads throughout the first half until Delaware Valley led 38-29 at the end of the half.

In the second half, Stevens mounted a comeback with a 10-1 run, evening the score at 39. The key to their success was a late run that allowed them to pull ahead of Stevens and secure the win 71-63. Despite a strong showing from their opponent, the DelVal team demonstrated their determination and skill by fighting back and ultimately coming out on top.

The win against Stevens was a statement victory for the Delaware Valley men’s basketball team. Their consistency and ability to come together in clutch moments make them a formidable opponent on the court. With their solid performance, the Aggies are poised for a successful season.

The Aggies worked great as a unit and were led by Freshman Tremaine Kynard.

“I feel that I played really good, especially for only getting 10 minutes…I impacted the game in many ways,” Kynard said after the game. “Creating shots for my teammates off screens, moving the ball around, and playing good defense. I took great shots on offense going 5 for 5 from the field, and they were big-time buckets when the team needed them.”

Later in the season, DelVal began to work better as a team.

= “I feel that the team is working better together later in the season because when the season first started we had selfish players” Kynard said. “Everybody didn’t really know each other as much and that was a big problem. Now that the team bonded everybody is on the same page and we have been successful in games.” 

The Aggies will continue to push for a playoff spot as their record after the win over Stevens is 10-9.

Delaware Valley University men’s basketball team’s victory over Stevens was a testament to the team’s talent and determination. With their impressive play, the Aggies are sure to be a team to watch in the coming weeks and months.
