The Men’s Lacrosse team defeated Rosemont on February 22nd 18-12 in their season opener to give their new Head Coach Will Lawlor his first win in his first game in charge.

Will Lawlor took over the Men’s Lacrosse program in June and in his very first game he would coach against his alma mater the Rosemont College Ravens. What better way to start your head coaching career than against the college you played for.

Aggies freshmen Dan Aulisi would get the game going with a goal just about 2 minutes into the game netting his first college goal. The Ravens would then net their own goal just a few seconds later. However, Del Val’s offense would just keep rolling later on in the first quarter scoring 3 goals in a span of just 96 seconds. Aggies jumped to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.

Starting off the second quarter the Ravens and Aggies each netted 2 goals one after the other. Even though Rosemont fought hard they were unable to hold off the Aggies rush of four straight goals.

At the half this game seemed it was going to be breeze for Delaware Valley as they were up 11-4 after two quarters.

The third quarter of this game was very similar to the second seeing the Aggies extend their lead even further. The quarter started off back and forth however the Aggies netted 3 goals in a row to finish off the period. After three the Del Val lead 15-6.

The fourth quarter was completely different from the rest of the game because for once it was all Rosemont. The Ravens outscored the Aggies in the fourth 6-3. Luckily though, Del Val built up a big enough lead to cushion them the rest of the game.

The Aggies roll past rosemont 18-12 starting off the season 1-0 and giving their new head coach his first win.
